RankNest vs Link Whisper
Link Whisper writes internal links inside one WordPress site. RankNest maps and plans internal links across every client site you run, on any CMS, and measures whether the links moved anything.
Free 14-day trial · No credit card
RankNest
Best for: Agencies and consultants running internal linking across several client sites, who need a visual map, a prioritised plan, and evidence the work paid off.
From $50/month
Link Whisper
Best for: A single WordPress site owner who wants suggested links inserted into posts from inside the WordPress editor.
From $97/year (Agency: $497/year, 50 sites)
Where Link Whisper is the better buy
Link Whisper is considerably cheaper. Its Agency licence covers 50 WordPress sites for $497 a year, where RankNest starts at $50 a month for one client. If you run one WordPress site, want links inserted as you write, and do not need measurement or multi-client reporting, Link Whisper is the better-value tool and we would rather you bought that.

What RankNest does that Link Whisper does not
You can see the structure, not just a list of links
Link Whisper reports internal links as tables inside WordPress. RankNest draws them as an interactive canvas: pillars, clusters, orphan pages, and the edges between them, so you can see that a money page has nothing pointing at it rather than reading it off a row.
Linking decisions you can defend to a client
Every recommendation carries a reason: same cluster, shared Search Console queries, semantic similarity, or a page with no inbound links at all. Recommendations are capped per page by a word-count budget, so a 600-word post is never handed fifteen links to place.
It measures whether the link worked
RankNest captures a Search Console baseline before a change and compares it afterwards, so an internal linking sprint produces a before and after rather than an assertion. Link Whisper does not connect to Search Console.
Built around clients, not installs
Plans are sized by number of clients, and every client gets its own workspace with its own audits, tests, link map and tasks. Link Whisper licences are per WordPress install, with no client layer.
Which one is right for you?
They solve different problems
Choose RankNest if
- Agencies running internal linking for several clients at once
- Sites not built on WordPress (Shopify, Next.js, Webflow, custom)
- Teams that have to show a change caused a result
- Anyone who needs the link structure visualised, not tabulated
- Work spanning audits, testing and linking in one place
Choose Link Whisper if
- A single WordPress blog or business site
- Writers who want link suggestions while drafting a post
- Bulk-adding links to an existing WordPress archive
- Budgets where an annual licence beats a subscription
On price
These tools are priced for different jobs. Link Whisper sells a per-site WordPress licence. RankNest sells a per-client workspace that happens to include internal linking alongside testing, audits, review mining and GBP scheduling. Compare on the job you need doing, not the sticker price.
