Client Profile

Edit the business context RankNest keeps for a client: services offered, target audience, and the setup wizard.

The Profile tab in Client Settings holds business context about a client: what they sell and who they sell to. AI features read this context to write more relevant output for the client, from post drafts to suggested copy, so a minute spent here improves everything the AI produces later.

Where to find it

Open a client from your client list, then click Client Settings at the bottom of the client sidebar. The page opens on the Profile tab; the other tabs are Integrations and, on some accounts, AI Profile.

How to edit the profile

  1. Fill in Services Offered with a short description of what the client sells or does (for example, "Web design, SEO optimization, content creation").
  2. Fill in Target Audience with who the client serves (for example, "Small business owners, enterprise clients, startups").
  3. Click Save Profile. A confirmation toast appears.

Both fields are free text. A sentence or two is enough; the point is to give the AI the same one-line briefing you'd give a new team member.

Note: The client's name and domain are not edited here. Change those from the client list instead. See Managing Clients.

Reopening the setup wizard

Click Reopen Setup Wizard to run the guided client setup again. That helps if you skipped steps like connecting Search Console or crawling the site when you first created the client. The wizard opens as an overlay and walks through the same steps as it did on creation. See Client Setup Wizard.

Tips

  • Fill in both fields before building the AI Profile. The crawl-based profile and your written context complement each other.
  • Use Reopen Setup Wizard instead of configuring integrations one by one when a client is missing several connections; the wizard walks through them in order.
