RankNest

Page Inventory

Browse every page on a client site in one table covering metadata, traffic, issues, experiments, and links, then drill into any URL for the full picture.

The Pages view lists every URL RankNest knows about for a client as a single record. Instead of checking the Site Audit for crawl issues, SEO Testing for experiments, and the link map for internal links separately, you get one table where all of that lives on the page itself. Change something in one tool and the others follow.

Use it as your starting point when you want to answer "what's going on with this page?" for any URL on a client site.

Where to find it

Open a client and click Pages in the client sidebar. The route is /dashboard/client/:clientId/pages.

Pages appear here after a crawl. If the table is empty, run a crawl from the Run crawl button (see below), or complete the Client Setup Wizard, which crawls the site for you.

The page table

Above the table, a stat strip summarizes the client: Pages tracked, Open issues, Live experiments, and Pending recommendations.

Each row in the table shows one URL with:

  • Page: the title, page type (Money, Pillar, Supporting, Service, Location, Company, Archive, Product, or "Untyped"), and URL path.
  • Cluster: the topic cluster the page belongs to on the link map.
  • Audit: issue count from the latest Site Audit. It reads "Clean" when the page has no issues, and a dash when the page hasn't been audited yet.
  • Experiments: running tests (shown as "live") and won tests.
  • Links: internal links in and out, from the link map.
  • Recs: pending Linking Plan recommendations that involve this page.
  • Clicks · 30d: Search Console clicks over the last 30 days, with a sparkline and trend for the top pages when Google Search Console is connected.
  • Sessions · 30d and Key Events · 30d: these two columns appear only when the client has Google Analytics 4 data synced.

Searching, filtering, and sorting

  • Search: type in the search box to match against page URLs, titles, and cluster names.
  • Filter: the filter dropdown narrows the list to All pages, Has issues, Has experiments, Has recommendations, or Untyped (pages without a page type yet).
  • Sort: the table sorts by clicks (highest first) by default. Click the sort button in the toolbar to cycle through the available sort keys: clicks, issues, and title, plus sessions and key events when the GA4 columns are showing.

The View map button in the toolbar jumps to the client's Link Mapping view.

Opening a page

Click any row to open that page in a slide-over drawer on the right. The drawer keeps the table visible behind it, so you can move between pages quickly. Press Escape or click the close button to return to the list.

Two controls sit in the drawer header:

  • Expand to full page: opens the same page object as a full-screen, deep-linkable view at /dashboard/client/:clientId/pages/:pageId. Share this URL with a teammate and it opens directly to the page.
  • Close: returns to the table.

From the full-page view, Back to Pages or the minimize button collapses back to the index. The drawer and the full page show identical content. Only the surrounding layout differs.

Tabs on the page object

The page header shows the page type, HTTP status, indexability, the live URL (click it to open the page in a new tab), and the title. Below it, a tab bar covers every lens on the page. Tabs with items show a count badge.

Overview

A KPI strip with Clicks · 30d, Impressions, CTR, and Avg position from Search Console, plus a second row of GA4 metrics (Sessions · 30d, Key Events · 30d, Engagement Rate, Avg Duration) when the client has GA4 data. Under the KPIs, the Page meta card shows the canonical title tag and meta description with live character counts. The Everything attached to this page cards summarize each of the other tabs. Click one to jump to it.

Issues

Everything wrong with this page from all three issue sources: Site Audit findings, link hygiene problems, and keyword cannibalization. Issues are grouped by category with the worst problems first. Each row has an action that fits its source. Details opens the Site Audit view for this page, Fix opens the link map, and cannibalization rows name the competing page ("Competing with X") with an Open that page shortcut. Click Dismiss on any issue that doesn't apply to this page; dismissed issues move behind a Show N dismissed toggle at the bottom of the tab, where each one has a Restore action. See Working with Issues for the client-wide issue queue.

Experiments

Every SEO test on this URL, split into Running and Completed sub-tabs. Each card shows the control and variant side by side, the measured lift, and a status-appropriate action: View results for running tests, Ship winning variant for won tests whose variant isn't live yet, or a Live on page marker once it is. Shipping writes the winning title or description onto the page record so the other tools pick it up automatically. If the page has no tests, New experiment starts one. See Creating Tests.

A mini link-map view of this page and its nearest internal links, followed by full Internal links in and Internal links out lists with anchor text and the linked page's type.

Recs

Pending and implemented Linking Plan recommendations that involve this page, each with the suggested link direction and the reason behind it. Click Implement in Linking Plan to action a recommendation in its full workspace.

Queries

The top non-brand Search Console queries driving this page, with clicks, impressions, CTR, and average position per query. Query data refreshes nightly. If the client's GSC isn't connected yet, the tab shows a Connect GSC link.

Activity

A change log for the page, newest first, assembled from every source: crawls, experiments, link changes, and recommendations.

Page type and cluster

The Pages table displays each page's type and cluster but doesn't edit them. Both are set on the link map, where the page sits in context with the rest of the site structure. To change a page's type or move it to a different cluster, open the client's link map and edit the page's node there. See Page Types & Clusters.

The Untyped filter is the quickest way to find pages that still need a type. Untyped pages block Linking Plan generation, so it's worth clearing that filter to zero.

Running a crawl

Click Run crawl in the top-right of the Pages view. Because crawls in RankNest belong to the feature that uses them, the Run a crawl dialog asks which one you want:

  • Crawl for Link Mapping: discovers pages, internal links, and anchor text. Feeds page types, clusters, and the Linking Plan. See Crawling Your Site.
  • Run a Site Audit: a technical SEO crawl covering status codes, indexability, canonicals, headings, and on-page issues. See Running an Audit.

Picking one takes you to that feature, where you start the crawl. Both write back to the same page records, so either crawl populates and refreshes this table.

Tips

  • Sort by clicks and work top-down: an issue on a page earning 500 clicks a month matters more than the same issue on a page earning 5.
  • Use the Has issues filter together with the Audit column to build a quick fix list without leaving the table.
  • The change indicator next to clicks compares the most recent stretch of the 30-day window against the stretch before it, so you can spot a decline before it shows up in monthly reporting.

Troubleshooting

The table is empty. No crawl has run for this client yet. Click Run crawl and pick either option, or finish the Client Setup Wizard.

Clicks show 0 and there are no sparklines. The client doesn't have a Search Console property assigned. Connect one under Google Search Console. Traffic data syncs daily after that.

The Sessions and Key Events columns are missing. They only appear once the client has synced Google Analytics 4 data. Connect GA4 in the client settings and check back after the next sync.

A page shows a dash in the Audit column. The page exists in the inventory (usually from a link-map crawl) but hasn't been covered by a Site Audit yet. Run one from Run crawlRun a Site Audit.

The Queries tab says "No query data yet." Per-page query data syncs nightly, so a freshly connected Search Console property won't show queries until the next sync completes.
