Google Business Profile
Connect Google Business Profile to RankNest and assign a business location to each client for post and photo scheduling.
The Google Business Profile (GBP) integration powers GBP Management: scheduling posts and photos to a client's business listing. You connect once at the agency level, then assign a specific business location to each client.
GBP uses a separate Google connection from Google Search Console. Even if GSC is already connected, you sign in to Google again for GBP, and disconnecting one never disconnects the other.
Where to find it
Click Account Settings in the dashboard sidebar (some in-app links call it Agency Settings), open the Integrations tab, and select the Google Business Profile sub-tab.
You can also manage a single client's location assignment from that client's Settings → Integrations tab, on the Google Business Profile card. The agency-level connection has to exist first.
How to connect
- On the Google Business Profile sub-tab, click Connect Google Business Profile.
- Sign in with the Google account that manages your clients' business profiles and grant the requested business-management access.
- Back in RankNest, the card shows a Connected badge.
How to assign a location to a client
Google Business Profile organizes listings as accounts that contain locations. Once connected, an Assign GBP Locations to Clients card appears with one row per client.
- Find the client's row.
- Open the account dropdown and choose the Google Business Profile account that manages this client's listing.
- RankNest loads that account's locations. Click the location that matches the client. Each option shows the business name and its street address, so you can tell similar listings apart.
- The location is assigned immediately; a checkmark with the location name appears under the client.
To unassign, click Remove on the client's row.
Note: Each client holds one assigned location. For a multi-location business, create a separate client per location you want to schedule posts or photos for.
What the connection powers
- Scheduling Posts, where you compose and schedule updates, events, and offers to the client's listing.
- Scheduling Photos, where you queue gallery photo uploads and manage what is live on the listing.
- The GBP tile on the client overview, which shows this month's scheduled and published posts.
Disconnecting
Click Disconnect on the connection card to remove the stored Google Business Profile connection. Location assignments remain, but scheduled publishing stops working until you reconnect.
Tips
- Connect with the Google account that has management access to every client listing you handle. The location picker only shows what that account can see.
- If a client's listing is managed under a different Google account than the rest, you can still assign it: the account dropdown lists every account the connected Google login can access.
Troubleshooting
"No locations found for this account." The selected Google Business Profile account has no locations the connected Google login can manage. Pick a different account, or check access in Google Business Profile itself.
A client's GBP card says "Not connected. Connect your account in Agency Settings." The agency-level connection is missing or was disconnected. Connect from Agency Settings → Integrations → Google Business Profile first, then assign the location.
Posts stopped publishing. Check that the connection still shows Connected in Agency Settings and that the client still has a location assigned. Reconnecting restores publishing for already-scheduled posts.
