Email Notifications

Turn task reminders, experiment updates, referral alerts, GBP queue reminders, and product news on or off, and set how often they arrive.

RankNest sends a small number of email types, and every one of them is optional. The Email Notifications panel controls which you receive and, for the two recurring types, how often they arrive.

Where to find it

Click Account Settings in the dashboard sidebar, then open the Notifications tab. Changes save automatically as you toggle. A brief "Saving preferences..." note confirms each change.

Note: Preferences are per person. Each team member sets their own. See Team Members.

The notification types

  • Task Reminders: emails about upcoming tasks on your clients, so due dates don't slip. Has a frequency selector.
  • Experiment Updates: an email when one of your SEO tests completes. Has a frequency selector. See Reading Results.
  • Referral Notifications: an alert when you earn a referral credit. See Referrals & Affiliates.
  • GBP Queue Reminders: a reminder to schedule more content when a client's Google Business Profile post or photo queue runs out. See GBP Management.
  • Marketing & Updates: occasional product news. Turning it off never affects the operational emails above.

Choosing a frequency

Task Reminders and Experiment Updates each have a frequency dropdown:

  • Immediate: an email as soon as the event happens (a new task, a completed test).
  • Daily: one digest per day bundling everything since the last one.
  • Weekly: one digest per week.
  • Never: no emails of this type, same as turning the toggle off.

Whatever the frequency, you only ever get one email per event. Switching between immediate and digest never double-sends.

Tip: If you manage many clients, set both recurring types to Daily. You keep the full picture in one email a morning instead of a steady drip.

Troubleshooting

The frequency dropdown is grayed out. The toggle on that row is off. Switch it on first, then pick a frequency.

You're not receiving expected emails. Check that the toggle is on and the frequency isn't Never, then check your spam folder. Weekly digests only arrive once a week, so a quiet stretch may just be the schedule.

A teammate gets emails you don't (or vice versa). Preferences are individual. Each person adjusts their own Notifications tab.
