Saved Keywords

Each client has its own saved list: a shortlist of keywords you want to keep after a search. Saving is free and uses no research reports. From the saved list you can refresh a keyword's metrics, copy keywords, remove them, or send them to rank tracking.

Save keywords

From the Research tab:

1. Run a search. See Finding Keywords.
2. Tick the keywords you want to keep.
3. Click Save in the selection bar.

You can also open a single keyword's details and click Save keyword.

A message confirms how many keywords were saved and how many were already on the list. Saved keywords show a Saved label in later search results.

Keywords are saved together with the country you searched. The same keyword saved for two countries appears twice, once for each.

Open the saved list

Click the Saved tab. The number next to it is how many keywords the client has saved. Newest saves are at the top.

The table works like the research results: sort by any column, filter with Keyword contains, Min volume, Max KD, and Any intent, and click a keyword to open its details and live Google results. Two things differ:

• The last column is Updated, which says when the keyword's metrics were last fetched (for example Today or Never).
• There is no You rank column. To see where the site ranks for a saved keyword, search for it on the Research tab or track it.

If the client has saved keywords from more than one country, the countries are listed on the right of the filter row.

Other parts of RankNest link straight to this tab, including global search, the client's tasks, and the activity feed. To bookmark it, add ?tab=saved to the end of the Keyword Research page address.

Refresh metrics

Search volume and difficulty change over time. To fetch current numbers:

1. Tick the saved keywords to update.
2. Click Refresh metrics.
3. The Refresh keyword metrics dialog says how many reports this uses at most. Keywords refreshed recently are reused and cost nothing.
4. Click the confirm button, which repeats the report count.

When the refresh finishes, a message says how many keywords were updated and how many reports were used.

Send keywords to rank tracking

1. Tick the keywords to track, on either the Saved tab or the Research tab.
2. Click Track rankings. The Track rankings dialog opens.
3. If the client has more than one rank tracker, pick one in Tracker. RankNest selects a tracker for the same country as the keywords when it can, and warns you if the tracker checks a different location.
4. Check the line under the tracker. It shows how many of the client's tracked keywords are in use. A tracker that checks desktop and mobile, or checks deeper than the top 20, counts each keyword more than once, and the dialog says so.
5. Click Track followed by the keyword count.

Tracking uses no research reports. Scheduled rank checks are covered by the client's tracked keywords allowance. Keywords already on the tracker are not added or counted again.

If the client has no rank tracker yet, the dialog shows Create default tracker and track. This creates a national tracker for the client's own domain and adds the keywords in one step. To choose the tracker's settings yourself first, click Set one up by hand instead. See Trackers & Keywords.

Copy keywords

Tick the keywords and click Copy. They go to your clipboard one per line, ready to paste into a brief, a spreadsheet, or AI Visibility prompts.

Remove keywords

1. Tick the keywords to remove.
2. Click Remove.
3. Confirm in the Remove saved keywords dialog.

Removing a keyword from the saved list does not stop rank tracking for it. Remove it from its tracker as well if you want it gone from both.

Troubleshooting

The Saved tab says "No saved keywords yet." Nothing has been saved for this client. Click Research keywords to go to the Research tab and run a search.

"A client can save at most 5,000 keywords." The saved list is full. Remove keywords you no longer need, then save again.

The Track rankings dialog shows a limit message. The client has no tracked keywords left. Remove keywords from a tracker, or see Limits & Add-ons for more.
